We took the Christmas tree down today which officially marks the end of the Christmas holiday. Yet, I have another two weeks before I fly back to Boston and start my second semester of graduate school.
Last year was an adventure. After an amazing New Year celebration, 2013 started going downhill. I worked full time while completing school, I spent a lot of time applying for graduate school, I struggled to figure out finances, I learned some unfortunate lessons about friendship and I lost my nonna. However, my move to Boston and start at BU changed my life forever. I have met so many wonderful people and had tremendous memories that have turned 2013 into the best year of my life.
I went into graduate school nervous and without a PR background. I felt I was playing catch-up, not yet knowing what I wanted to do with my life or how to get there. Luckily, over four months I have (hopefully) figured it out. Thanks to my amazing professors, I’ve been able to set a plan in action to help me get closer to my goals.
Over the next two weeks I’ll be finishing the updates on my portfolio and creating new business cards. More importantly, I’m hoping to conduct as many information interviews as I can. Before I go back to school I hope to have insights into Non-Profit, Corporate and Agency PR in the realm of Corporate Social Responsibility. Specifically, I want to determine the internship route I should take.
Over the better half of the year I’ve started connecting with so many wonderful PR and COM people. I’m learning so much from each one of you. Thank you for helping me end the year with a bang and I look forward to the future with all of you!
