If you read my Biggest News Ever post you’ll know that my beautiful sister got engaged. Recently we had an engagement dinner for her and I was unfortunately told that showering and showing up was not enough of a gift from the MOH. So, I needed to think of another plan.
Now, I know nothing about weddings. While everybody was picking out cake cutters (which I thought came with the cake) I was stuck trying to figure out what the hell to get her that wouldn’t require me to sell a kidney.
I ended up deciding on an adorable little gift basket with a few things the future bride and groom will need.
Now, how is this DIY? Well, for starters, I DID go out and buy the wine, the basket and the supplies and I DID put them all into the basket myself.
More importantly, I used a Pinterest DIY tutorial to make these mugs:
Started with a white mug I used oil based pain sharpies to write a little love note on the mugs. I placed them in the oven before pre-heating it to 350 degrees. Once there, I let them sit for 30-40 seconds before turning the oven off and let them cool with the oven.
In the basket I placed the mugs, my sister’s favorite tea and her fiancé’s favorite coffee along with their favorite bottle of wine.
